KroVin 500 Preservative (active ingredient: α-mercapto-N-oxide > 20% aqueous solution)

 

Mechanism of Function

Functioning as an ionophore, KroVin 500 biopreservative can traverse the bacterial cell membrane, facilitating the transport of protons into the cell and the removal of potassium ions. Through repeated shuttling, it disrupts the ion gradient on both sides of the cell membrane, rendering the membrane incapable of nutrient transport and ultimately causing cell death.

Applications

The KroVin 500 series preservatives boast an expansive pH tolerance range, spanning from pH 5 to 11 (with the optimal pH falling between 6.5 and 10.5). They exhibit excellent chemical stability and can seamlessly integrate with water, as well as various ionic emulsifiers, including anions, cations, and non-ions. This compatibility extends to active agents, serum, proteins, enzymes, and other substances.

 

The recommended usage proportion ranges from 0.05% to 0.2%, with the specific concentration determined based on the characteristics of the sample system. Adjustments to the concentration can be made as necessary, allowing for an increase if required. For enhanced results, the preservatives can be blended with KroVin 300 and KroVin 360.

 

Mainly have the following applications:

 

1) Reference substance, coating solution, blocking solution, stabilizing solution, diluent, and buffer;

2) Blood gas analysis, blood cell reagents, diluents, etc.;

3) Calibration solution (pH, etc.);

4) Cleaning fluid, containers, pipes, sinks, etc. to clean, disinfect and inhibit bacteria;

5) In vitro diagnostic kits and reagent preparation.

6) Products such as disinfectants, detergents and broad-spectrum antifungal dermatological drugs can also be prepared.

 

 

Packaging and storage

The packaging specifications of this product are 25ml, 100ml, 500ml and 5L. Under normal room temperature storage conditions, it can be stored stably for two years. During the storage period, if sediment is found, mix it evenly before use and it will not affect its bactericidal effect.

 

 

Precautions

 

1. Although this product is low-toxic and safe to use, you still need to avoid contact with your mouth, eyes and skin. Please take precautions when operating.

2. Please store in a cool and dark place.

3. This product is incompatible with some oxidants, such as persates, sulfites, etc. Unstable to light, oxidants and strong reducing agents. Non-ionic surfactants will have a weak effect (the dosage can be increased appropriately), and they can undergo a chelating reaction with heavy metal ions (which can neutralize the interference of heavy metal ions on products or liquid preparation systems).

4. The temperature should not exceed 45℃ during use.
